Moshi/Arusha
Early Morning
After breakfast, depart from Arusha and drive to Lake Manyara National Park for your first safari experience. This scenic park is famous for its groundwater forests, acacia woodlands, and the alkaline Lake Manyara that attracts large flocks of flamingos and other birdlife. Enjoy a game drive with chances to see elephants, giraffes, zebras, hippos, baboons, and, if lucky, the park’s famous tree-climbing lions. In the late afternoon, transfer to your lodge or camp for dinner and overnight.
After an early breakfast, head to the spectacular Ngorongoro Conservation Area and descend into Ngorongoro Crater for a game drive. The crater floor is home to one of the highest concentrations of wildlife in Africa, offering excellent opportunities to spot lions, elephants, buffaloes, zebras, wildebeest, hyenas, hippos, and possibly the endangered black rhino. After a picnic lunch inside the crater, continue to the Lake Eyasi area for dinner and overnight.
Today offers a memorable cultural experience near Lake Eyasi. In the early morning, visit the Hadza, one of the last remaining hunter-gatherer communities in East Africa. Learn about their traditional way of life, hunting techniques, survival skills, and deep connection to the surrounding landscape. You may also visit local communities around the lake before returning to your lodge for lunch. Later, continue toward the Tarangire National Park area for dinner and overnight.
After breakfast, depart for Tarangire National Park, known for its ancient baobab trees and large elephant herds. Enjoy a final game drive through the park, where you may spot elephants, lions, giraffes, wildebeest, zebras, impalas, and a variety of bird species along the Tarangire River. After lunch, begin the drive back to Arusha, arriving in the late afternoon or evening, marking the end of your safari with Bavon Tours and Safaris.
