Early Morning
Your safari begins with an early morning departure from Arusha as you head toward Tarangire National Park, one of Tanzania’s most scenic wildlife destinations. Famous for its giant baobab trees and large elephant herds, Tarangire offers excellent game-viewing throughout the year. Upon arrival, enjoy a full-day game drive with chances to spot elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, and many species of birds along the Tarangire River. In the late afternoon, drive to your lodge or camp for dinner and overnight.
After breakfast, depart for the spectacular Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Descend into the world-famous Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the best places in Africa to see wildlife in a natural enclosed setting. Enjoy a game drive on the crater floor where you may encounter black rhinos, lions, elephants, buffaloes, zebras, hippos, hyenas, and flamingos. After lunch, continue your journey toward the Serengeti National Park area for dinner and overnight.
Today is dedicated to the endless plains of Serengeti National Park, Tanzania’s most iconic safari destination. Spend the day exploring different areas of the park on game drives, searching for the famous Big Five and the abundant wildlife that makes the Serengeti legendary. Depending on the season, you may also witness part of the Great Migration, with thousands of wildebeest and zebras moving across the plains. The Serengeti also offers excellent opportunities to spot cheetahs, leopards, hyenas, and large prides of lions. Dinner and overnight at your lodge or camp inside the park.
Enjoy an early morning game drive in Serengeti National Park, when predators are most active and the golden morning light creates exceptional wildlife viewing. After breakfast, continue with a final game drive as you make your way out of the park. After lunch, begin the return journey to Arusha, arriving in the evening with unforgettable memories of Tanzania’s northern safari circuit.
